“Through play children learn what no one can teach them.”

Our Mission

At Miss Amy’s Neighborhood Preschool, we provide high-quality early education in a safe, joyful, and respectful environment where children are free to explore, create, and connect.

Our play-based approach supports emotional, social, and academic growth—encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Learning is active—it’s noisy, joyful, and full of curiosity. Language, conversation, and shared experiences are at the heart of how young children make sense of their world.

Guided by our five pillars—Relationships, Joy, Kindness, Curiosity, and Legacy—we believe children thrive when they feel seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

KINDNESS

Kindness is something the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Kindness is never wasted. Giving and receiving kindness brings connection.

JOY

Joy and enthusiasm are essential ingredients for learning. Activities and classrooms properly structured and supported results in a joyful classroom.

RELATIONSHIPS

Children who feel safe and secure, who are seen, heard, and loved by others feel a sense of belonging to a community.

CURIOSITY

Curiosity and exploration encourage reflection, quiet, present, and wonder.

LEGACY

The power of legacy is the sharing of stories, memories, wishes and dreams. It connects us. It offers us a link between young and old.

Our Classes

3-Year-Old

3-year-old classes focus on laying the foundation for social/emotional development with peers and teachers.

4-Year-Old

4-year-old classes focus on building on the same foundation steps already set by their first year with us.

Pre-K/Kindergarten

Pre-K/Kindergarten classes focus on adding the next layer of knowledge and skills.

  • "Amy, Once again you have helped my child be ready and confident to enter kindergarten. Thank you so much for your wonderful preschool and for your love and care of children. I wish I had someone else to send next year."

    Tami

  • "Dear Miss Amy, We especially appreciate how well Ellen related to you and how you gave her space and security to grow in your classroom. You made Ellen's first experiences with school an awesome journey! Thank you so much!"

    Lisa & Scott

  • "I had to write this down so I don't start crying at preschool! It's hard to express our gratitude for teaching Carmella and Kate the past few years. You have made such an important impact on their growth and development in school and in life! It was so nice to take them to school where they were so excited to play and learn and make new friends. Miss Amy's Preschool is a special place, and you have a gift!"
